Life Science QUESTION?!?! Could it be an singled celled organism that is aual?!?
Sea stars are capable of both ual and aual reproduction. They can form a whole new individual from a piece of their arm. Many animals are capable of aual reproduction. They basically bud of a piece of their body. Most animals that do this have a relatively simply internal system. I think one of the reason that they multipled in this scenario is simple because they don't have to expend so much energy for reproduction--aual reproduction cost less energy than ual reproduction. This allows them to divide and multiply. And each of the individual sea stars are capable of going through sexual reproduction also. Sea stars are multicellular...There is no way the whole body of a sea star is one cell. If it was, when you cut into it, you would see a big nucleus and organelles.
