My dog lived 9years. it was a colier and i loved it so much. how long can a dog live.?

i am a Nigerian. i locate at Lagos state. i was just today talking to a friend of mine how long a dog was and just was checking through the net how long a dog has lived but unfortunately found no answer to that question. well could you please tell me anyone you know that has lived 9 years as my dog"CLINTON" has lived . or anyone who lived more than 9years..
