I received a reply "Wish you the same, keep the nobs on". What do you mean by "keep the nobs on"?

On wishing merry Christmas to a friend in U.K i received the reply . However i am not sure what keep the nobs on phrase means. Therefore i was unable to reply. Please advise what this phrase means.
