If you are on your period and take a pregnancy test would it come out positive?

i took a pregnancy test today and it came out positive. i was going to take another one in the morning just to see what it would come out to be, but then about 6 hours ater i started bleeding like red not pink. ( i have been spotting for about a week pink) so i just took another test because the box came with 2 and i just wanted to use it, and it came out positive.
